Bachana Beradze, Iliauni Doctoral Student, Won a Fellowship from Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics and International Atomic Energy Agency

Bachana Beradze, a doctoral student at Ilia State University (ISU), specializing in the field of Condensed Matter Physics, has been awarded the joint fellowship of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IEAE). In 2024, the doctoral student will undertake a four-month-long study trip to the Trieste Centre to conduct joint research and complete his doctoral research project.

In 2022, Bachana Beradze and his scientific supervisor, Prof. Alexander Nersesyan, visited Trieste as part of a research project funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. During their visit to Italy, Prof. A. Nersesyan initiated a new research direction, actively involving a group of Italian scientists led by Prof. Marcello Dalmonte.

It is worth mentioning that Mikheil Tsitsishvili, a master’s graduate from ISU and current doctoral student at the Trieste Centre, is a member of the Italian group.

After completing their work in Trieste during the summer of 2024, Bachana Beradze will defend his dissertation in Tbilisi, while Mikheil Tsitishvili will defend his thesis in Trieste.

Ilia State University congratulates Bachana Beradze on this remarkable achievement!
