On 18 May, Assoc. Prof. Gabriella Pelloni from the University of Verona will deliver a public lecture entitled “Literary Multilingualism and Transcultural Memory in Contemporary German-Language Literature” at the Book House Ligamus.
Gabriella Pelloni is a faculty member in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Verona, specializing in German-language culture and literature from the 19th century to the present. Her research focuses on: Intersections between literature and philosophy, particularly Nietzsche’s work, sources, and reception in 20th‑century European culture, German-language literature and culture of the Klassische Moderne, German-Jewish literature and culture, the work of Ingeborg Bachmann, Literature and social issues (identity, exile, migration, marginality), Theories of interculturality and transculturality, Translingualism in contemporary German-language literature.
Currently, she coordinates the research project Representations of Otherness, Diversity and Marginality in Contemporary European and Extra-European Literatures within the Departmental Excellence Project Inclusive Humanities (2023–2027). She also serves as editor-in-chief of the journal NuBE – Nuova Biblioteca Europea (OJS), dedicated to the study of contemporary European literatures.
Assoc. Prof. Pelloni is visiting Ilia State University within the Erasmus+ academic mobility program.
