THE YEAR OF ILIA CHAVCHAVADZE – PANEL DISCUSSION ON “ILIA’S LEGACY”

In 2017, Georgia marks the 180th anniversary of Ilia Chavchavadze, Great Georgian Writer and Public Figure, who was treacherously killed in September 12, 1907, i.e., 110 years have passed since this ominous day.

Ilia State University (ISU) declares the year of 2017 as the year of Ilia Chavchavadze and plans to pay homage to him by offering the Georgian public a number of interesting projects, events and contests.

Information on the planned events will be regularly updated.

On February 3, 19:00, the cycle of public lectures will start by panel discussion “Ilia’s Legacy” at ISU Book House Ligamus.

The participants of panel discussion are as follows:

 ➢ Giga Zedania, philosopher and lecturer at ISU  

 ➢ Giorgi Kadagidze, economist and professor at ISU  

 ➢ Emzar Jgerenaia, sociologist and professor at ISU 

 ➢ Lasha Bakradze, historian and professor at ISU  

 ➢ Levan Gigineishvili, philosopher and professor at ISU    

 ➢ Nino Doborjginidze, philologist and professor at ISU    

 ➢ Ketevan Devdariani, script writer
