International databases show that Ilia State University is significantly improving the quality of the research
Thomson Reuters-'s Web of Science is one of the most reliable and authoritative database, which brings together the world's major scientific publications and provides their detailed and accurate indexing. Ilia State University is the only authorized user in Georgia that provides access to the world's 12,000 leading impact factor magazines, open access journals and 150,000 conference materials for its students, professors and researchers.
On the basis of the ThomsonReuters base data* analysis revealed the following significant development trends of Ilia State University research:
Steadily increasing dynamics of scientific publications and citations in 2006-2014;
2014 was the most successful year in terms of the number of citations and publications, which amounted to 50% growth in comparison to the indicators of the previous year;
Publication made available within the first five months of 2015 exceeds the number of publications in same period of 2014 by 33%;
Annual growth dynamics of the citations is much more saturated than the number of publications between 2006 and 2014.
In support of conducting exceptionally high-quality researches and to increase the involvement of young scientists in research processes, Ilia State University established Pascal Award in 2014. At this time, the university has issued the award to eight articles authored by both PhD students and researchers.
