From 2019 to 2021, Ilia State University (ISU) and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will implement a joint educational and research Project: Georgia and Korea: Paralells in the Historical Experience

The Project will support the development and introduction of an academic module of Georgian studies (language courses and history of civilization) in the Hankuk University and a module of Korean Studies in ISU respectively. A Centre of Korean Studies will be established at the ISU Department of Arts and Sciences as part of the Institute of Oriental Studies. Three international conferences with the participation of Georgian and Korean professors involved in the Project will be held in Seoul and Tbilisi, and joint collections of papers, as well as learning materials and resources will be developed. 

The Project is funded by the  Academy of Korean Studies and supported by the Georgian Embassy in South Korea and South Korean Embassy in Georgia.
