BECOME JURY MEMBER OF ILIAUNI LITERARY CONTEST – ESSAY CONTEST FOR STUDENTS

Ilia State University (ISU) announces an essay contest for students called “Which Georgian do Novel I consider Best and Why?”

The winners of the contest will:

  • become jury members of one of the large-scale literary contests at Iliauni;
  • enjoy two-day vacations at Iliauni Kazbegi Hotel

Who can participate in essay contest?

Only ISU students can participate in the contest.

How to participate in essay contest?

Before March 16, 2017 send an essay on the topic “Which Georgian Novel do I consider Best and Why?” at pr@iliauni.edu.ge

Essays should not exceed 1,500 words. The subject line should read Iliauni Literary Contest 2016. The applicants’ name, phone (mobile) numbers, e-mail address, name of faculties, programmes and courses must also be given. 

History of Iliauni Literary Contest

Iliauni literary contest has existed for 7 years. In 2010, the university academic board decided to contribute to the development of novel writing in Georgia and introduced an award for the best novel.

Before 2014, the award was granted to 5 nominees. In 2010, Aka Morchiladze got the award for her novel “Mamluk,” and in 2011, Zaza Burchuladze for his novel Inflatable Angel; in 2012, the award was not issued; in 2013, the award was shared between Ana Kordzaia Samadashvili for her novel “Who Killed Chaika” and Jaba Zakrua for his novel “Readers Must Die”; in 2015, Iliauni award was granted to Nana Ekvtimishvili for her novel "The Pear Field".
